Located approximately 35
kilometres to the north-east of Gerik and covering an area of 15,200
hectares, the Temenggor Lake is the largest man-made lake in Perak.
Its beauty and tranquility
together with the diverse flora and fauna to be found makes this
area an ideal place for tourists and nature lovers. Also
scattered around this area are small orang asli settlements whose
livelihood depend much on the vast tracks of jungle around them.
The lake is also an important source of fresh water fish and the
area attracts fishmen all over Malaysia. Fishing competitions
are held every year.
