Revolutionized The Country's Economy
Be sure to visit the site of the first rubber tree planted in
Malaysia that stands to this day.
The only survivor of the 1st
nine planted, it was the forerunner of Malaysia's world famous
rubber industry.
It was planted from seeds brought over from
London's Kew Gardens in 1877, when Sir Hugh Low was the British
Resident in Perak.
There's a memorial plaque at its base to
commemorate its rich place in Malaysia's history.
