One of the most outstanding landmarks in Ipoh is the State Mosque
which is the pride of the State's Islamic Foundation. The main
feature of this architectural masterpiece is its minaret that
rises 125 feet above its mosaic-tiled domes.
The Hanafi mosque was founded in 1908 by a Tamil Muslim, Shaik
Adam, after "a dispute with his Malay co-religionists".
