Accommodation |
|
|
The accommodation consists of several traditional style houses,
utilising timber, rattan and split bamboo.
The entire construction was
carried out by the local Orang Asli, with Adeline supervising the whole
procedure.
Add to this a clear, fast moving stream that weaves between
the buildings, and the effect is one of harmony with the environment.
Accommodation, catering for about 50
people, is dormitory style. No beds or mattresses are provided, and only
a sleeping mat separates the guest from the bamboo floor - 'good for the
back' Adeline is reported as saying in a recent newspaper article.

Served up river fish cooked with taucu (preserved
soya beans), petai with prawns, kampung chicken, pucuk paku or fern
shoots, belacan and brinjals, spicy, juicy cockles, Ipoh beansprout
chicken and even tomyam.

|
There is also
ample space in the grounds to provide camping for a further 100 people, and
Adeline can supply the tents.
Toilets and showers are adjacent to the
accommodation and camping ground. There are also hand basins near the
restaurant.
The hostess is particularly noted for her first-class culinary
capabilities, and it is worth staying at her Rumah Rehat for the cuisine
alone.
All foods are pork free.
She is also very proud of the fact that
her organically grown durians are much enjoyed by all her guests. |
