Kinta Valley - Background and Economy |
|
|
The Economic, Social
& Administrative Centre That Offers So Much More!
In this district lies the Kinta Valley which is the richest tin
valley in the world. Although tin is not a prominent
industry as before, this valley retains its status as the hub of
Perak, mainly due now to development of industry and tourism.
Inhabited by some 629,899 people, it is also the artery of economic
and social growth and the administrative centre of the royal state
of Perak. Ipoh the capital city is situated within this
district.
The robust economic growth brought about by tin mining and rubber
industry, being the pillars of Malaysia's economy, has rendered this area
with adequate infra-structure facilities - an ideal environment for
business enterprise. Consequently, it made it easier to build other
facilities thus assuring the continued growth of the Kinta Valley as the
premier growth area in Malaysia. Ipoh city which has a population of
500,000 people is growing and it is testimony to its potential for growth.
