| The silver
items often come in the form of tea sets, trays, jewellery and
cutlery. In the past, social status was indicated by the
amount of silverware one had for beautification and everyday
use. The laborious task of creating masterpieces is
exacting. Silver is poured into a shallow wooden mould, allowed
to solidify and hammered into the required design. Then
motifs are carved onto the surface of the silver using small
chisels, leaving no room or error. |
